RMT Adoption Policy 

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Rescue Me Tucson, an all-volunteer-run organization working with multiple non-profit agencies.  Our current list of adoptable animals can be found at our Facebook Albums( Adoptable Cats & Adoptable Dogs ).

We reserve the right to make the best adoption match based on the animal’s needs, breed and age.

 Please understand that we are seeking permanent, compatible homes for animals who have lost their homes and security at least once. We are an all-volunteer managed organization.  

Please read the following information in order to help us better assist you.

• We are not a same-day adoption agency. If coming from out of town, please read the policy carefully.
  • Please text or call 520-261-1616 with any questions and to verify if the animal is still available.
• Applications are completed online and usually reviewed within 5 days with the Rescue who owns the animal. During kitten season and the holidays the review time may be longer. A joint decision is made regarding the best placement.
• This is an “adoption” not a “sale”, RMT and our partners reserves the right to refuse any adoption based on the best interest of the animal. 
• Once you submit the RMT application, you will receive confirmation of submission.  Please be patient, repeated phone calls or texts inquiring about the application status slow the process down. 
  • Due to the volume of applications received, not all Applications will receive a response.
• Adopters must be at least 21 years old.
• All adults involved in the adoption and care of the animal are required to meet the animal and agree to the adoption.
• A Facetime Home Visit is required for some agencies after an application is initially conditionally approved. The purpose of the visit is to check for safety. 
• Appointments are preferred to meet our animals. Walk-in visitors are welcome but may have to wait for assistance due to limited staffing. 
  • 4 PM is the last meet and greet of the day.
• Appointments are required for meet and greets with dogs already in the household. 
  • Due to safety concerns,  NO retractable leashes are allowed for dog meet and greets. 
• For appointments, please text or call 520-261-1616.  Allow up to 24 hours for a response.  
• We do not facilitate introductions between cats and dogs, or between multiple cats.
• If you are unable to access the internet to fill out an application, please secure trusted assistance. 

Before submitting the application below insure you know the correct name of the rescue the animal is from so you submit the correct application.
